![]() The facility holds paramount the protection of the staff, the inmates and the community it serves. The mission of the Orange County Correctional Facility is to provide a safe working and living environment. The Corrections Staff is responsible for not only housing the inmates, but to provide those services required by State, Local and Federal guidelines including but not limited to inmate recreation, inmate work program, visitation, court activities, mail services, meals, and medical care. As stated above, the average daily population for the facility is in excess of 200 inmates. The purpose of the facility is to house pre-trial detainees and those persons convicted of crimes sentenced to county jail or awaiting transfer into the Texas Prison System. The facility staff is currently made up of one captain, one lieutenant, six sergeants, four corporals, and around 47 staff members. The facility currently has a capacity for approximately 350 inmates, however the average daily population is just over 200. Darbinyan’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 22. “Hollywood Mike,” of Los Angeles, pleaded guilty on January 3 to conspiracy to commit assault resulting in serious bodily injury, and admitted in his plea agreement that he and two co-conspirators assaulted the victim. Of the other two inmates charged with this assault and attempted murder, Mher Darbinyan, 48, a.k.a. ![]() Carney scheduled a May 20 sentencing hearing at which time Amezcua will face a statutory maximum sentence of 30 years in federal prison. Amezcua is one of 31 defendants charged in a 33-count federal grand jury indictment brought in 2022. Amezcua delivered more than 20 blows to the victim while another inmate, using a razor blade, slashed the victim’s throat. On December 31, 2019, Amezcua took part in the assault of another inmate at the Theo Lacy Facility in Orange. “Flaco,” of Santa Ana, was found guilty Thursday afternoon of one count of committing a violent crime in aid of racketeering (VICAR), namely, attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.Īccording to evidence presented at a three-day trial, Amezcua is a member of the Madison Park clique of the Santa Ana-based Lopers street gang and an associate of the Mexican Mafia.
